The released quartet comprises of midfielders Titus Mulama and
Kennedy Oduor, goalkeeper Charles Ouma and Ugandan Striker Julius
Senoga.
According to the club’s head Coach David Ouma, the released players were not getting playing time.
“We need a lean squad comprising of players that feature regularly
in matches. It would have been unfair for us to keep the four of the
team, even when they were not playing,” said Ouma.
Mulama had left Sofapaka at the beginning of the 2012 season, to join
Nakuru AllStars, a Division One side, before leaving later to rejoin
Sofapaka. Ouma says that the club is considering giving him a coaching
position in the club, owing to his vast experience.
“Mulama is very experienced having played locally and abroad, as
well as for the national team. His presence on the team’s technical
bench will be a plus,” said Ouma.
Charles Ouma and Oduor were all signed at the start of the 2013
season, from Ligi Ndogo (Division One) and Karuturi Sport with Senoga
coming in as an unattached player.
Sofapaka, the 2009 League Champions, are currently ranked second in the standings, having picked 21 points from 13 matches.......(Supersport)
