After Robert Lewandowski produced a master class, scoring all the important four goals in the Boroussia Dortmund’s first leg win against a one goal from Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, speculations are now rife and flowing right, left, front, back, and literally everywhere, that the player might not feature in Boroussia’s next season squad.
Borussia Dortmund General Manager
Hans – Joachim Watzke however insists that they would rather lose their star
striker Robert Lewandowski for free than attempt to sell him to either Manchester
United or Bayern Munich. He insisted that Lewandowski has a running contract
till 2014 and that unlike Mario Gotze, Lewandowski has no release clause in his
current contract.
Some reports had ealier linked the
Poland International with a move to Bayern Munich, with his agent; Jupp
Heynckes claiming a deal was all but complete. However, Lewandoswski refused to
be drawn into those transfer speculations. When asked, his reply was that his
focus was currently on Dortmund. He insisted that they still have important
games in Champions League and in the Bundesliga. That, it’s only after that,
that He can clearly see what will happen next.
