Kenya: Bamburi Rugby Super Series Finals Underway

Kenya's Top Fry Ndovu and Uganda's Rwenzori will meet in the 2013 Bamburi Rugby Super Series final at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday, with East Africa’s premier trophy on the line. Ndovu reached the final with a 34-22 semi final win over UAP Papa at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 25 May while Rwenzori were 32-0 winners over Bollore Nyumbu in Kampala on the same day.

Papa and Nyumbu Releases Player Lineups For Bamburi Rugby Sevens Playoff

UAP Papa and Bollore Nyumbu have named their squads for the third place playoff match at the Bamburi Rugby Super Series on Saturday 1 June 2013. 

Papa coach Paul Odera has made several changes to his line up, starting Francis Akatu and Jim Kiarie at front row in place of regulars Moses Amusala and Salaton Muturi. He has also handed starts to Nick Ongeri and Ian Indimuli at lock and back row. Felix Wanjala starts at scrum half while Edgar Abere starts ahead of Fabian Olando on the wing.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Issa Hayatou will grace the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Kenya’s Harambee Stars and Nigeria’s Super Eagles at Moi Kasarani on June 5. 

A top Kenya FA official has exclusively told Goal.com that the African boss will arrive in Nairobi on June 3, two days to the decisive match.

Sofapaka FC has dropped four players. 

The released quartet comprises of midfielders Titus Mulama and Kennedy Oduor, goalkeeper Charles Ouma and Ugandan Striker Julius Senoga. 

According to the club’s head Coach David Ouma, the released players were not getting playing time. 

“We need a lean squad comprising of players that feature regularly in matches. It would have been unfair for us to keep the four of the team, even when they were not playing,” said Ouma.

Uganda Cranes forward Dan Wagaluka has started training with Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards and could join the club if all goes well. 

Wagaluka started training with the team on Thursday 30 April and the club’s head coach Luc Eymael says he’ll assess him over the next couple of days. 

“I’ve been very specific with the kind of players we need to sign in the upcoming window. I need a holding midfielder, two wingers and a good striker,” Eymael side.

Big Boost For Harambee Stars Players As Allowances Are Increased

Harambee Stars players’ allowances have been increased from Kshs3000 ($35) to Kshs 10000 ($118). 

This was confirmed to supersport.com by FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya on Monday. 

“We want to encourage the boys ahead of the World cup campaign and we have decided to increase their daily allowances. They were initially earning Kshs 3000 per day but that has been increased to Kshs10,000.
