AFC Leopards Set To Unveil A New Foreign Coach After Sacking James Nandwa

AFC Leopards will next week unveil a new coach who will take over from the sacked James Nandwa. The team parted ways with Nandwa after a series of unsatisfactory results this season.

According to team secretary General George Aladwa, the EC has already identified and settled on a new coach but are yet to finalize on appointing one more member of the new technical bench.

Kenyan Premier League side AFC leopards has sacked head coach James Nandwa and appointed former keeper Washington Muhanji Washington as a care taker coach for the coming weekend match against City Stars in Mumias.

On Wednesday, AFC Leopards lost 1-0 to newcomers KRA in a mid week match played at Kasarani, their second defeat of the season that seemed to have nailed Nandwa's fate.

UEFA Champions League Draw

Holders Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid joined Chelsea and Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League semifinal draw, in Nyon from 12:15 on Friday.

Bayern and Madrid both reached the last four in 2012/13 while Chelsea were last involved the previous campaign. In contrast, Atlético have never played in the Uefa Champions League semifinals and last got to the European Cup's last four in 1973/74, when they ousted Celtic and went on to lose the only final replay in the competition's history -- against Bayern.

Sponsorless Gor Mahia Raid KCB 3-2 In a Mid Week Kenyan Premier League Game

For the first time in three years Gor Mahia played without a shirt sponsor but it still did not deter them from picking maximum points against KCB following a 3-2 win at City Stadium on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia's former shirt sponsors Tuzo pulled out last month forcing the club to play in new kit which have not been branded with a sponsor's logo. Rama Salim opened the scores for Gor Mahia in the 27th minute from a goal mouth melee before David 'Calabar' Owino added the second early in the second half rising up to head home an Innocent Mutiso corner.

Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho outshone want-away striker Luis Suarez with a fabulous individual performance in Liverpool's 3-0 win over Thailand on Sunday.

The attacking midfielder opened the scoring with a brilliant solo goal in the first half and he picked out Spanish forward Iago Aspas for Liverpool's well-taken second shortly after the break.

Captain Steven Gerrard scored the third goal and also hit the woodwork as Brendan Rodgers' team completed their Asian tour with their third clean sheet in three games.

Diego Maradona 'attacked' a Photographer and 'Kicked him in the groin'

A celebrity magazine photographer has accused Diego Maradona of kicking him in the groin, filing a police complaint against the Argentine great.

"Gente" magazine photographer Enrique Medina said the attack happened outside Maradona's father's house on Sunday night as he waited to take a picture of the 1986 World Cup winner.

Gor Mahia's Dan Serunkuma Leaves For Europe

Gor Mahia's and 2012 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Player of The Year; Dan Serunkuma has left the country for Eastern Europe region for trials. 

He will first stop in Armenia before heading to Ukraine and Belarus. Serunkuma who currently plays for the Ugandan Cranes has received the blessings of national team coach Micho. 

David Moyes 'still coming to terms with scrutiny'

Manchester United boss David Moyes said Sunday he still needs to come to terms with the level of scrutiny he faces as manager of one of the world's biggest football clubs.

The Scot, who has been in the high-profile job for just two weeks after replacing Alex Ferguson, on Saturday lost his first match with his new side 1-0 against the Thai All Stars in Bangkok.

Moyes, 50, said the pressure of managing at Old Trafford did not compare with his decade in charge at English Premier League rivals Everton.

"I have to put this in perspective and it is completely different," Moyes told reporters at a press conference after touching down in Australia.

Football Kenya Federation's President Sam Nyamweya is Under Siege

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Sam Nyamweya has defended himself against accusations of misappropriation of funds levelled against him on Monday. 

The federation boss accused Hussein Terry, Tom Alila and Sammy Sholei of waging a war to tarnish the name of the federation after the quartet had made claims that FKF had not accounted for $410,222. 

Nyamweya termed the documents presented to Kenya Anti Corruption Commission, Fifa and the Government as fake and malicious and intended to injure the reputation of the federation. 

Jose Mourinho ' We are Targeting Four Trophies'

Jose Mourinho said on Tuesday Chelsea would be gunning for victory in all four competitions this season as he prepared to kick off his second spell in charge with a friendly in Bangkok.

The 50-year-old Portuguese said there were "no priorities" for Chelsea as they tackle the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, following their pre-season tour of Asia and the United States.

"The next match is the important one. If our next match is the Champions League, the Champions League is our competition," Mourinho told a press conference.
